EARLY, Texas — Central Texas Farm Credit recently hired Casey Spikes as a loan officer at the rural lending cooperative’s Early branch office.
Spikes brings expertise in lending, agriculture and rural real estate to his new role. He has three years of experience in commercial banking, and holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University, with an emphasis in finance and real estate. He also raises and shows Dorper sheep, and co-owns Bowie Sheep and Goat Commission, a North Texas livestock market.
The Early office, located at 1026 Early Blvd., serves Brown, Comanche and Mills Counties, home to many cattle, sheep and goat producers. Strong local demand for livestock and production loans, land loans and equipment financing is what prompted the cooperative to add Spikes’ position.
“We’re definitely in a growth mode,” said Matthew Iley, who manages the Early branch. “This is a different kind of lending, and it takes a specific person and mindset to do it well. Casey’s education, lending experience and history in the livestock business are worth their weight in gold. He’s a good fit for us and our customers.”
