CTFC Board of Director Mike Finlay Retires

Central Texas Farm Credit Board of Director Mike Finlay has retired from the association's board of directors after sixteen years of service.

Finlay took out his first loan with Farm Credit in 1985 and was elected to the CTFC board in 2008. He is a rancher and farmer in McCulloch and Coleman Counties who grew up helping his father farm and ranch. Finlay farms cotton, wheat, grain sorghum, and hay crops and runs a cattle and sheep operation.

"Mike's sixteen years of service to Central Texas Farm Credit are marked by his support and promotion of our mission and vision," Robby Halfmann, CTFC board chairman, said. "As a director, Mike's ideas and insights, rooted in his agricultural background, played a pivotal role in shaping our strategies to serve our customer-owners effectively."

Finlay's commitment to service extends beyond his role at CTFC. A native of Lohn and a graduate of Texas Tech University, he and his wife, Marsha, are active members of the Brady Methodist Church. They are proud parents of two daughters and have two grandsons. In addition to his agricultural pursuits, Finlay serves as the president of the Fife Cemetery Association and is the secretary of the McCulloch County Conservation Association Board.

“I appreciate the opportunity that was presented to me to serve on the board,” Finlay said. “I have learned a lot about Farm Credit and have developed a great appreciation for the Farm Credit System.  I have had the pleasure of meeting numerous people that I would have never met had I not been on the board. I believe CTFC employees are dedicated to meeting the financial needs of the agriculture community in an efficient manner. I would like to thank the borrowers for letting me serve as your representative on the board. I have enjoyed it.”
