EARLY, Texas — Central Texas Farm Credit (CTFC) stockholders have re-elected Mike Finlay of Lohn and Philip Hinds of Coleman to the rural lending cooperative’s board of directors. As members of the six-person board, they will represent the interests of fellow stockholders.
Finlay is a farmer and rancher in McCulloch and Coleman Counties who grows cotton, wheat, grain sorghum, and hay crops, along with running both a cattle and a sheep operation. A graduate of Texas Tech University, he is president of the Fife Cemetery Association, and is secretary of the McCulloch County Conservation Association Board. He and his wife, Marsha, are members of First United Methodist Church in Brady. The couple has two daughters and two grandsons. He was first elected to the Central Texas Farm Credit Board in 2008.
Hinds runs a cow-calf and small grain operation in Coleman County. He attended Texas State Technical Institute, and is a life member of the National Rifle Association. He and his wife, Amy, are members of First Baptist Church in Coleman. The couple has three children and eight grandchildren. He was first elected to the board in 2009.
“Because we are a cooperative, our stockholders elect our board members, who are stockholders themselves,” Central Texas Farm Credit CEO Jimmy Chambers said. “We congratulate Mr. Finlay and Mr. Hinds and thank our customer-members for participating in the election process.”
Finlay and Hinds will serve a three-year term on the Central Texas Farm Credit board, which also includes Robby Halfmann of Ballinger; Kenneth Harvick of Comanche; Steven Lehrmann of Sagerton; and Burl Lowery of Brownwood.
Central Texas Farm Credit provides financing for all types of rural real estate, including farms, ranches, rural homes and land. The lender also finances livestock, equipment and the working capital needs of farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses. Part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, it is headquartered in Early and has branch offices in Brady, Coleman, Comanche, Early, Haskell, San Angelo, and San Saba.
